    Cloth Habit Harriet Bra

You guys! I made a bra! And I made it over a year ago! In fact, I made it at Camp Workroom Social in 2016. Not last year, but the freakin’ year before. You would think I would have been shouting this from the rooftops, but we all know how life gets and (for those of us that blog) how blogging can take a backseat when things get busy. Normally I would just move on, but this is too good not to share. So here it, in all its bra glory, my Cloth Habit Harriet Bra. I have heard that bra-making is addictive, that once you learn how you can’t stop…

    Cotton and Steel Garden Apron

As I write this post, it’s a fairly typical rainy and windy Seattle day. I don’t mind this time of year because this is when I can stay indoors and sew and knit (and not feel guilty about it). It’s also when I can take time to plan ahead for the upcoming gardening season. You can read my posts about garden planning, seed ordering and seed starting to see what kind of planning and getting ready I usually do this time of year, but this year I am getting ready for gardening by making myself a garden apron! Camp Workroom Social 2017

It’s been almost a month since I was at Camp Workroom Social and I try to keep the “camp” feeling alive as long as I can after it ends. What is the “camp” feeling you ask? Or better yet, what is Camp Workroom Social? If you don’t already know, Camp Workroom Social is a 4 day sewing retreat in the Catskill Mountains, organized by Jennifer Wiese of Workroom Social in Brooklyn, NY. If you went to summer camp as a child, you probably already know what the “camp” feeling is.  I only went to summer camp as a pre-teen, so only got to go a couple of times before I aged…

    Gray Plaid Archer Button Up

Hello! So I haven’t blogged since February and I’m not “ablogagizing”, just stating a fact. I have probably missed blogging more than you have missed me, but I am back nonetheless. It’s been an interesting year. My goal this year was to have more fun, which I feel like I succeeded in doing. I went on some amazing trips: a fun canoe trip, an epic family wedding, an anniversary getaway at my favorite local vintage trailer park and my annual escape to Camp Workroom Social. In February, Matt and I swapped rooms we use as studios, so now I have a bigger and better sewing space. It just took some…

    2017 Goals

I’m not a big fan of New Year’s resolutions, but sometimes the new year is just the push I need to do the things I’ve been thinking about for a while. The rainy, dark winters in Seattle can make getting motivated challenging and the last few months of 2016 were especially tough. I needed to get out of the rut I was in, so I decided to participate in two New Year’s events through my gym; a Whole30/Reset and a fitness challenge. I also had an unused Dusty Strings gift card, so I signed up for the winter ukulele ensemble session. Between hitting the gym 3 days a week, cooking Whole30 compliant meals and ukulele lessons, January and…
