    Calligraphy Cardigan

    February 10, 2018 / 1 Comment

Drumroll please! My Calligraphy Cardigan is finally finished! I felt like it took me two years to knit this sweater -which was actually my estimate of how long it would take to knit, since I am a slow knitter- but it actually only took a little over a year. It was SO MUCH stockinette to knit. It was totally worth it though and I knew it would be. I am going to wear this sweater ALL THE TIME. Pattern- Calligraphy Cardigan by Hannah Fettig This pattern is from Hannah Fettig’s book Home & Away and all of the photos in that book were shot in Maine and are so georgous.…

    Cotton and Steel Garden Apron

    January 27, 2018 / No Comments

As I write this post, it’s a fairly typical rainy and windy Seattle day. I don’t mind this time of year because this is when I can stay indoors and sew and knit (and not feel guilty about it). It’s also when I can take time to plan ahead for the upcoming gardening season. You can read my posts about garden planning, seed ordering and seed starting to see what kind of planning and getting ready I usually do this time of year, but this year I am getting ready for gardening by making myself a garden apron! Pattern: from One Yard Wonders Fabric: Cotton and Steel Melody Miller Picnic Baskets Neutral As you…

    Owl Print Folklore Bag

    April 23, 2014 / 6 Comments

I know, I know, I need to stop screwing around and start working on my wedding dress (and I have since I made this), but it was for my good friend Val’s birthday and I had bought the fabric for her ages ago, so I had to make this. Plus it was a quick make, so there. The pattern is the Folklore Bag from One-Yard Wonders. I have gotten my mileage out of that book! Surprisingly, I haven’t made a lot of bags. I think the first and last bag I made was in home ec in elementary school. I made a monogrammed duffel bag (sans zipper) and I still have it! Anyway, I…

    Finished Project: Colette Violet Blouse

    February 20, 2014 / 4 Comments

This Colette Patterns Violet blouse was originally to be made for the Colette Patterns 2012 Spring & Summer Palette Challenge.  It was in my moodboard and everything! I’m usually really good about finishing one project before starting another, because I know how I am. If I didn’t force myself to work that way, I would have half-completed projects all over the place. It’s part of how I motivate myself to finish things. The Violet blouse was one of three garments I pledged to make in the Spring and Summer of 2012. The other two were a Truffle dress (the third project in the The Colette Sewing Handbook) and a Crepe dress. I completed my Truffle dress without any problems,…
