2018 Year in Review
In 7 years of this blog, I have only missed one “Year in Review” and that was last year. I also didn’t write a goals post, so we don’t have to talk about how far I got with my goals. There were a lot of things going on at the beginning of 2018, as life tends to do: lingering job burnout (from a job I had just quit), health problems (exacerbated and ignored because of that job), the loss of a friend to suicide and the subsequent feelings of instability and depression that occurs related to all of the above. I just DID NOT HAVE IT IN ME to do…

Victory Patterns Chloe Dress
After I finished my Ellsworth Coat, something must have shifted—maybe it unblocked my sew-jo—because I have been completing projects left and right since then! Like the Ellsworth Coat, this un-blogged make is also from last October, but it’s what I made at last year’s Camp Workroom Social Dressmaking class (the Ellsworth Coat was made in the Jacket Making class the year before, but took me a year to complete). This one is the Victory Patterns Chloe Dress by the lovely Kristiann Boos. This is an example of a pattern that I probably never would have picked on my own, but surprisingly have ended up loving. It has a lot of…

Clarke Pullover
I just realized that (according to Ravelry) I have been knitting for over six years now! You would think I would have gotten faster in that time, but for some reason I’m still a pretty slow knitter. I must be getting slightly faster though, because I knit a Clarke Pullover by Jane Richmond in less than my normal average of a year! It’s probably only partially the speed at which I knit, but also the frequency. Lately, I have been sewing more than I have been knitting, so that could be part of it. Anyway, as I always say, ain’t nothing like a deadline, and camp is always a reason…

Ellsworth Coat
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday season. For the first time in 20 years, I was not working in retail over the holiday season, which means I was able to enjoy some time off. It was lovely and there were actually a couple of sunny days that I took full advantage of to get some blog photos of recent completed projects. One of which is my long awaited Christine Haynes Ellsworth Coat. I’m usually pretty good about finishing a project before starting the next one—I do that so I don’t end up with a bunch of UFOs—but every now and then, a project comes along that takes…

Red Plaid Carolyn Pajamas
It’s a Merry Day after Christmas for me! I’ve had some time off for the holidays, so finally had the chance to photograph a few garments that I’ve made recently, including my most recent pair of Closet Case Patterns Carolyn Pajamas! Like I said, it’s the day after Christmas, so that’s why there are no presents under the tree. In our house, we are allowed (let’s be real, it’s a rule I impose) to enjoy the Christmas tree until New Year’s and then New Year’s Day, down it goes. If you celebrate Christmas, how long do you leave the tree up after Christmas? I am always so curious to know…
